【天草市】牛深ハイヤ大橋

のどかな漁港の風景に突然現れる牛深ハイヤ大橋は、関西国際空港の設計でも知られるイタリアの建築家レンゾ・ピアノ氏によって設計され、平成9年（1997年）8月に完成しました。

全長883メートルを誇るこの橋は、県内で最も長い橋であり、車道と両側歩道を合わせた幅16メートルという規模を持ちながらも、その優雅で繊細なデザインは、周囲の自然景観と見事に調和しています。

まさに、類を見ない美しい橋と言えるでしょう。

また、新熊本100景にも選ばれており、牛深ハイヤ大橋とともに、うしぶか海彩館は牛深観光の主要なスポットとなっています。

【Amakusa City】Ushibuka Haiya Bridge

The Ushibuka Haiya Bridge, which suddenly appears in the tranquil fishing port, was designed by the renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano, who also worked on the design of Kansai International Airport. Completed in August 1997 (Heisei 9), the bridge boasts a total length of 883 meters, making it the longest in the prefecture. Despite its impressive size, with a roadway and sidewalks spanning 16 meters in width, the bridge’s delicate and graceful design blends harmoniously with the surrounding natural landscape, making it a stunning and unique structure.

Selected as one of the New 100 Views of Kumamoto, the Ushibuka Haiya Bridge, along with the Ushibuka Umikai-kan (Sea Color Pavilion), has become a major highlight of Ushibuka’s tourism.
