新潟県妙高市平丸地区で農家の冬の収入源として作られた「平丸スゲ細工」や、熊本県の郷土玩具「板角力」、鹿児島県の「帖佐人形」など、約150点の縁起物が展示・販売されます。

【Kumamoto City Minami Ward】2025 Good Luck Calling Folk Crafts Exhibition

This exhibition brings together a variety of traditional good-luck charms from across Japan, including paper-mâché dolls, clay bells, Daruma dolls, and kites, all beloved as symbols of prosperity.

Featured in the exhibition are around 150 items, including the “Hiramaru Sugé Craft” from the Hiramaru district in Myoko City, Niigata, which was created as a winter income source for farmers since 1958, Kumamoto’s local toy “Itakatsuri,” and “Chōsa Dolls” from Kagoshima.
