【熊本市中央区】令和7年 熊本駅周辺新春行事「どんどや」

熊本駅周辺の3校区（古町、春日、白坪）が合同で行う伝統行事「どんどや」が、1月に世安橋下流右岸の白川河川敷で開催されます。

この火祭りは、無病息災・五穀豊穣を祈る行事として、松飾りやしめ縄、古神札を焼き、一年の健康と豊かな実りを願います。

当日は、飾りの針金やみかん、だいだいを外した状態で持ち込むことができます。

また、冷えた体を温める「ぜんざい」のふるまいもありますので、ぜひご家族揃ってお越しいただき、心温まるひとときをお過ごしください。

【Kumamoto City Chūō Ward】2025 Kumamoto Station Area New Year’s Event “Dondo-ya”

A traditional event called “Dondo-ya” will be held in January along the Shirakawa Riverbed on the right bank downstream of the Seian Bridge, organized by the three local districts (Furumachi, Kasuga, and Shirasu) around Kumamoto Station.

This fire festival is a ceremony to pray for good health and a bountiful harvest for the year.

During the event, people will burn decorations such as pine garlands, sacred ropes, and old talismans to pray for a year of health and prosperity.

You are welcome to bring these items, but please ensure that the wire from decorations, as well as tangerines and bitter oranges, are removed.

In addition, “Zenzai” (sweet red bean soup) will be served to warm you up.
