【山鹿市】絵図・地図で見る山鹿

江戸時代から昭和にかけての絵図や地図を通して、山鹿市の歴史的変遷を辿る企画展です。

本展では、大正から昭和にかけて活躍した「大正広重」こと吉田初三郎が描いた「菊池史蹟図」（昭和20年）が初めて公開されます。

この貴重な鳥瞰図は、軍神松尾敬宇や菊池精神をテーマに描かれた作品です。

展示では、江戸時代以降の様々な絵図や地図を紹介し、それらから山鹿市の姿を振り返ります。

【Yamaga City】Yamaga Through Maps and Illustrations

This exhibition looks back at the changing landscape of Yamaga City through maps and illustrations from the Edo period to the Showa era.

A highlight of the exhibition is the first public display of “Kikuchi Historical Sites” (Showa 20), a bird’s-eye view map created by Yoshida Hatsuemon, known as “Taisho Hiroshige,” who was active from the Taisho to Showa periods.

This valuable piece depicts the themes of the war god Matsuo Keiu and the spirit of Kikuchi.

The exhibition showcases various maps and illustrations from the Edo period onward, offering a glimpse into the evolution of Yamaga City.

Explore the history and culture of the town through these maps, and enjoy a display filled with nostalgia and new discoveries.
