主人公は、肥後の鳳凰と呼ばれた熊本藩６代藩主、細川重賢公。
彼が「宝暦の改革」によって熊本藩を立て直した功績を描いたお話です。
普段、わくわく座で上演されているお芝居とは少し違った雰囲気をお楽しみいただけます。

【Kumamoto City, Chūō Ward】[Wakuwaku-za] New Year’s Special Short Play “The Legend of the Honorable Hosokawa Clan” Announcement
From January 2nd (Thursday) to 5th (Sunday), we will have a special New Year’s short play, “The Legend of the Honorable Hosokawa Clan” for four days only!
The story features Hosokawa Shigekata, the 6th lord of the Kumamoto domain, known as the “Phoenix of Higo.”
Witness his accomplishments in restoring the Kumamoto domain through the “Hōryaku Reform.”
This performance offers a different atmosphere from the usual plays performed at Wakuwaku-za.

(Each performance lasts about 15 minutes)

Free (Wakuwaku-za entrance fee required)
Admission is free for elementary and middle school students in Kumamoto City, and those over 65 with proof of age.
