Setsubun is an important day in traditional culture, when people drive away bad spirits and pray for health and happiness as the seasons change.

At Kato Shrine, there will be a unique “Tiger Passing” ritual, where participants pass under a large painting of a tiger to ward off evil spirits and pray for good health and safety for their families.

The Setsubun Festival ritual will begin at 9:00 AM, and visitors can receive a limited number of Setsubun beans.
