【菊池市】菊人形・菊まつり

菊池の秋を彩る風物詩「菊人形・菊まつり」は、今年で34回目を迎えます。

菊池市ふるさと創生市民広場では、菊池市菊まつり推進委員会の皆さんが心を込めて育てた大菊や小菊、懸崖、盆栽、さらには菊人形が美しく展示されます。

特に見逃せないのは、約700年前の南北朝時代に活躍した菊池一族の武者姿を、色鮮やかな菊の花で表現した菊人形です。

繊細で高度な技術が光るこれらの作品は圧巻の美しさを誇ります。

また、地元の小・中・高校生たちがこの日のために一生懸命育てた菊も展示され、地域の温かさと情熱が感じられる素晴らしいイベントとなっています。

【Kikuchi City】Kiku Ningyo and Kiku Matsuri

The Kikuchi City Kiku Ningyo and Kiku Matsuri is a vibrant celebration of autumn, marking its 34th edition this year. Held at the Kikuchi City Furusato Creation Citizen Square, the event features stunning displays of large and small chrysanthemums, cascade styles, bonsai, and intricately crafted chrysanthemum dolls, all lovingly nurtured by the Kikuchi City Kiku Matsuri Promotion Committee.

A highlight of the festival is the chrysanthemum dolls that depict the warrior figures of the Kikuchi clan from the Nanboku-chō period, approximately 700 years ago, created with bright and colorful chrysanthemums. The exquisite craftsmanship of these pieces is truly remarkable. Additionally, chrysanthemums grown by local elementary, middle, and high school students will be showcased, reflecting the community’s warmth and enthusiasm in this wonderful event.
