【八代市】八代市立博物館 未来の森ミュージアム

松井家が所蔵する旧八代城主の貴重な美術品を中心に、八代の文化と歴史を過去から現在に至るまで紹介する博物館です。

敷地内の木々はできる限り保存され、前面の通りからはメタリックな建物のシルエットが緑豊かな木々の間にひっそりと見え隠れします。

このため、公募で決定された「未来の森ミュージアム」という名称は、メタリックな建物と自然の緑との調和を象徴しています。

常設展示では、八代城主を務めた松井家の伝来品をはじめ、八代焼（高田焼）、肥後鐔、宮地和紙、染韋（そめかわ）などの美術工芸品を紹介。

さらに、古墳や城跡から出土した遺物、妙見祭の資料、八代城跡の模型、各時代の歴史資料などを通じて、八代の歴史と文化を多角的に学ぶことができます。

また、古文書講座や体験講座なども開催され、市民の作品発表の場としても利用されています。

【Yatsushiro City】Yatsushiro City Museum, Future Forest Museum

This museum introduces the culture and history of Yatsushiro, from the past to the present, with a focus on various art pieces owned by the Matsui family, the former lords of Yatsushiro Castle.

The trees on the museum grounds have been preserved as much as possible, and from the street in front, the metallic silhouette of the building can be glimpsed among the greenery of the trees.

The name “Future Forest Museum,” chosen through a public contest, evokes the harmonious balance between the metallic structure and the lush natural environment.

The permanent exhibits include heirlooms of the Matsui family, who were the lords of Yatsushiro Castle, as well as art and crafts such as Yatsushiro ware (Takada-yaki), Higo tsuba, Miyachi paper, and dyed leather.

The museum also displays artifacts from tombs and castle ruins, materials related to the Myoken Festival, a model of Yatsushiro Castle ruins, and historical documents from various periods.

These exhibits offer a multi-faceted view of Yatsushiro’s history and culture.

The museum also hosts courses on ancient documents, various hands-on workshops, and serves as a venue for citizens to present their works.

通过公开征集决定的“未来的森林博物馆”这一名称，恰好展现了金属建筑与丰富绿意环境之间的和谐美感。

常设展览包括松井家传承的八代城主遗物，以及八代烧（高田烧）、肥后铁铸、宫地和纸、染皮等美术工艺品，还展示了来自古墓和城址的出土文物、妙见祭相关资料、八代城遗址模型以及各个时代的历史资料，全面展示八代的历史与文化。

此外，博物馆还举办古文书讲座、各类体验课程，并作为市民作品展示的场所使用。
