【南小国町】夫婦滝

田の原川と小田川が合流する地点には、侍と村娘にまつわる伝説が伝わっています。

左側の滝は「男滝」、右側の滝は「女滝」と呼ばれ、夫婦滝として親しまれています。

この滝は、縁結びの象徴として多くの人々に信仰されており、熊本県の「平成の名水百選」にも選ばれています。

The point where the Tanohara River and the Otagawa River converge is steeped in legend, involving a samurai and a village maiden.

The left waterfall is called the “Male Waterfall,” while the right one is called the “Female Waterfall,” together known as the “Couple Waterfalls.”

This place has become a popular spot for those seeking blessings for love and relationships.

It has also been recognized as one of Kumamoto Prefecture’s “Top 100 Waters of Heisei” (a selection of notable natural waters).
