【宇城市】舞鴫文殊堂

舞鴫文殊堂は、学問の神様「文殊菩薩」を祀る仏堂で、「西の大宰府」とも呼ばれるパワースポットです。

文殊菩薩は「3人寄れば文殊の知恵」と言われ、釈迦三尊の一つとして知恵を授ける神様として広く知られています。

舞鴫文殊堂の歴史は400年以上前に遡り、加藤清正の朝鮮出兵に同行した村の若者たちの帰還を記念して祀られたのが始まりです。

現在では、日本三大文殊堂の一つとして、受験シーズンになると、合格を祈願する多くの参拝客で賑わいます。

境内には巨大なイチョウの木があり、特に11月頃に色づいた黄色のイチョウと赤い鳥居のコントラストが美しく、周囲の集落と合わせて「新くまもと百景」に選定されています。

その景色は映画の舞台に出てきそうなノスタルジックな雰囲気を醸し出し、多くの人々を魅了しています。

【Uki City】Mousigi Monju-do

Mousigi Monju-do is a temple dedicated to the god of learning, “Monju Bosatsu,” and is also known as the “Western Dazaifu,” a power spot.

Monju Bosatsu is revered as the god of wisdom and is counted among the three main deities of Shakyamuni, with the famous saying “Three people together bring the wisdom of Monju.”

The history of the temple dates back over 400 years, beginning when young villagers who had accompanied Kato Kiyomasa during the Korean invasions erected it in celebration of their return.

Today, it is one of the three major Monju temples in Japan, and during the exam season, it becomes a popular spot for visitors wishing to pray for success in their exams.

The temple grounds feature a giant ginkgo tree, which is especially beautiful in November when its leaves turn bright yellow, creating a stunning contrast with the red torii gates.

This scene, along with the surrounding villages, has been selected as one of the “New Kumamoto Hundred Views.”
