【美里町】釈迦院御坂遊歩道「日本一（3333）の石段」

この石段は、1200年の歴史を誇る釈迦院（八代市泉町）の表参道・御坂に、美里町の日本一の石段を建設し、地域の活性化と観光資源の開発を目指して作られました。この石段は、未来の世代に伝えるべき文化遺産として、町のシンボルとなることを目指しています。

また、毎年11月には「アタック・ザ・日本一」が開催され、石段を利用したイベントが行われています。

上級者の中には、登り終えるのに1時間を切る方もいらっしゃいますが、一般の方は登るのに約2時間、下りは1時間程度で、合計約3時間を見込んでいただくと良いでしょう。

【Misato Town】Shaka-in Misaka Promenade “Japan’s Tallest Stone Steps (3333 Steps)”

This stone staircase was constructed along the Misaka approach to Shaka-in Temple (Izumi Town, Yatsushiro City), which has a 1,200-year history. The project aimed to create a symbol for the town’s revitalization and a major tourist attraction, while preserving it as a cultural heritage for future generations. The stone staircase also serves as a symbol of the community’s efforts for local development.

Additionally, every November, the “Attack the Japan’s Best” event is held, where participants climb the stone steps.

For experienced climbers, the ascent may take under an hour, but for most visitors, the climb up takes about 2 hours, with the descent taking about 1 hour, making a total of around 3 hours.
